The 6 Best Sora Alternatives (2026)

Made on Leonardo with Seedance 2.5: a single beam of warm light falls through a slit in a bare concrete room onto a gravel floor.

If you made videos with Sora 2, you need somewhere new to make them. OpenAI discontinued the Sora web and app experiences on 26 April 2026, and the Sora API on 24 September 2026.

OpenAI says it will permanently delete Sora data after any final export window, so export your videos from sora.chatgpt.com/sunset soon.

This list covers six places to make AI video now. We make Leonardo.Ai, so it's first on our list. Every fact about another tool comes from that tool's own website, checked on 3 November 2026. Models change often, so check each site before you decide.

What to Look For in a Sora Alternative

Video with sound on Seedance 2.5, Wan 3.0 and more

With Sora 2, you made video and audio together: dialogue, sound effects and music. On Leonardo, you can do that with Seedance 2.5, Wan 3.0, FLUX 3 Video and MiniMax H3, so make sure you get sound with the model you pick.

Start and end frames, or up to 30 image references

With start and end frames or image references, you decide how much of the shot you direct. On Leonardo, you set start and end frames on Seedance 2.5, Wan 3.0 and FLUX 3 Video, and guide a video with up to 30 image references on Seedance 2.5 or 10 on Wan 3.0.

Up to 30 seconds on Leonardo, 3 minutes on Kling AI

On Leonardo, you make videos up to 30 seconds with Seedance 2.5 and Wan 3.0, and up to 20 seconds with FLUX 3 Video. On Kling AI, you can extend a video up to 3 minutes. Check the maximum for each model before you pick.

#1. Leonardo.Ai

On Leonardo, part of the Canva family, you make images and videos in one studio, and pick the video model for each shot.

Why it's a good Sora alternative

Start with Seedance 2.5, where you make videos up to 30 seconds with sound, guided by up to 30 image references, and edit a video you already have. Switch to Wan 3.0 for videos up to 30 seconds from text, start and end frames, or image, video and audio references, or to FLUX 3 Video for videos up to 20 seconds at up to 1080p.

In the same picker, you make MiniMax H3 videos up to 15 seconds at up to 4K with sound, and Gemini Omni 1.1 Flash videos of 3–10 seconds at up to 4K. Kling 4.0, Kling Video 3.0 and Veo 3.1 are there too, and you can design the first frame with image models such as Lucid Origin and Nano Banana 2.1.

Best for

Makers who want Seedance 2.5, Wan 3.0 and other current video models in one AI video generator, and a model to pick for each shot.

Pricing

What you spend depends on the model and the settings you pick, such as the video's duration and resolution, and the generation panel shows the exact cost before you generate. The pricing page lists the plans.

#2. Google Flow

Google Flow is Google's AI creative studio, built on Google's own models: Veo 3.1 (Lite, Fast and Quality) and Gemini Omni Flash for video, and Nano Banana models for images.

Why it's a good Sora alternative

If Veo is the model you want, Flow gives it to you inside Google's own studio, free to start with 50 credits a day. Daily credits don't roll over, and Flow runs only Google's models, so Kling and Seedance aren't there. We compare it in more detail in our Google Flow alternatives guide.

Best for

Makers who work mostly with Veo and Google's image models.

Pricing

Flow gives you 50 credits a day, and each video spends credits. Check Google's plans page for what more credits cost.

#3. Runway

Runway is a creative suite for video, images and audio, built for film and VFX work. Its own models include Gen-4.5 for video and Aleph 2.0, which Runway describes as editing a frame in a video and applying the change to the rest of it.

Why it's a good Sora alternative

On Runway, you can also use models from other labs, including Kling 4.0, Seedance 2.5 and Wan 3.0. Where it stands apart is editing: you change a frame with Aleph 2.0 and carry the change through the video, and you can work inside Premiere Pro and After Effects with its plugins.

Best for

Filmmakers and editors who change existing footage as often as they generate new video.

Pricing

You start with 125 one-time credits, and each generation spends credits. Check Runway's pricing page for what more credits cost.

#4. Kling AI

Kling AI is Kuaishou's own app for the Kling models. As of 3 November 2026, it leads with Kling 4.0, and its Canvas workspace lets you plan scripts, storyboards and videos with an agent.

Why it's a good Sora alternative

On Kling AI, you can extend a video several times, up to 3 minutes, which suits storytelling rather than single shots. It's one model family, though: there's no Veo or Seedance to switch to. (Kling 4.0 and Kling Video 3.0 are also on Leonardo.)

Best for

Kling fans who want Kuaishou's own tools, and makers who need longer videos.

Pricing

You get credits for logging in, and each video spends credits. Check Kling AI's pricing page for what more credits cost.

#5. Dreamina (Seedance 2.5)

Dreamina, from CapCut, is the home of ByteDance's Seedance video models. With Seedance 2.5, you make videos up to 30 seconds long from up to 50 references.

Why it's a good Sora alternative

Dreamina gives free daily credits you can spend on Seedance 2.5: 120 a day for US accounts, with different amounts in other regions. (Seedance 2.5 is also on Leonardo.)

Best for

Makers who want long, reference-heavy videos and a free daily allowance.

Pricing

You get free credits every day, and each video spends credits. Check Dreamina's pricing page for what more credits cost.

#6. Hailuo AI (MiniMax)

Hailuo AI is MiniMax's own app, home of the MiniMax H3 video model and the Hailuo models. Its homepage lists Omni Reference to guide MiniMax H3 and Hailuo Agent to plan videos.

Why it's a good Sora alternative

For quick, realistic videos, Hailuo AI is a focused generation tool rather than a filmmaking studio, so you'll assemble shots elsewhere. (MiniMax H3 and Hailuo 2.3 are also on Leonardo.)

Best for

Makers who value speed over an integrated editing suite.

Pricing

New accounts get free credits to start, and each video spends credits. Check Hailuo AI's pricing page for what more credits cost.

Keep Making Video With Sound on Leonardo

You can keep making the videos you made with Sora. On Leonardo, you make Seedance 2.5, Wan 3.0, FLUX 3 Video and MiniMax H3 videos with sound in one model picker, and design the first frame in the same studio. If you work with one model family, you can also go straight to its own app: Google Flow, Kling AI or Dreamina.

FAQs

When did Sora shut down?

OpenAI discontinued the Sora web and app experiences on 26 April 2026, and the Sora API on 24 September 2026, according to its help article. To keep making videos with sound, you can use Seedance 2.5, Wan 3.0, FLUX 3 Video and MiniMax H3 on Leonardo.

Can I still download my Sora videos?

OpenAI says you can export your Sora content from sora.chatgpt.com/sunset, and that it will permanently delete Sora data after any final export window, so export soon. On Leonardo, you can then add a video as a video reference in Seedance 2.5, or edit it there.

Is Sora 2 available on Leonardo?

On Leonardo, you make videos with sound on Seedance 2.5, Wan 3.0, FLUX 3 Video and MiniMax H3 instead: Sora 2 is no longer in the model picker.

How much does a video cost on Leonardo?

What you spend depends on the model and the settings you pick, such as the video's duration and resolution, and the generation panel shows the exact cost before you generate. The pricing page lists the plans.
