Leonardo: Can you tell us a bit about your background as a fashion designer?
Gisela: Sure, so as a fashion and textile designer, I became involved with 3D garment design. My company, GS Prints, addresses the growing need for customised prints within collections, adding value, storytelling, and personality in an easily visualised manner.
Leonardo: How did you get started using Leonardo.Ai?
Gisela: I’ve been fascinated by Generative AI since its inception, so once I discovered Leonardo’s intuitive interface, I immediately saw its potential for the fashion industry.
It transformed my design process, streamlining ideation and enabling quick exploration of various concepts, which was especially useful for clients unsure of their direction. I’m often reluctant to use standard mockups or stock images – here Leonardo is incredibly useful, allowing me to easily create precise mockups reflecting the desired aesthetic for my prints – such as rocker, boho, or activewear-themed.

Leonardo: How are you currently using Leonardo in your fashion design workflow?
Gisela: I use Leonardo for crafting website mockups, generating quick fashion sketches for 3D translation, composing trend mood boards, creating graphics and artworks for prints, and showcasing my ideas efficiently.
In terms of the feedback I’ve received, it’s been a combination of astonishment, excitement and curiosity. Colleagues, clients, and manufacturers are all extremely interested and recognize its tremendous future potential.
Leonardo: How has Leonardo.Ai unlocked your creativity?
Gisela: Working with Leonardo.Ai’s has had a substantial impact on my work. It has streamlined my entire creative process, enabling efficient and professional presentation of ideas.
Firstly, the quantity and quality of my designs and artworks in all styles have significantly increased as I became more proficient in prompting and got to know the platform. The opportunity to engage with emerging technologies has complimented my expertise in the fashion industry, allowing me to experiment, learn, and focus better.

Leonardo: What advice would you give to other fashion designers using Leonardo?
Gisela: I would encourage them to experiment extensively with the platform! Test various models and adjust different parameters to steer you towards your desired outcome.
Having a clear vision helps, but be open to exploring different possibilities. A good tip to get going is to observe other users’ creations and analyse how they used prompts in their creations.
